Second Breeze
[The camera is shaky and held at a much smaller level from where Jin usually holds it. Specifically, it's about at crotch height, given that that's what's on the screen before he crouches down to look the camera in the eye.]
So I been learnin' a bit 'bout these pocky-mons, and findin' out that me own're weak t' rock types on account o' bein' flyin-types. Makes sense, after all, I'd imagine gettin' smacked out o' the air with a big ol' rock would hurt, it would! Even if it'd be easy t' blow it off path with jes' a gust o' wind...
Anyway! So I says, it's time t'be catchin' me one o' these rock-flyers, it is, t'be complementin' the rest o' the team I got! Ye got the gear thinger nice and tight, there, Shouen?
[A gruff but cheerful "Char!" comes from behind the gear, as Jin's blue eyes flick up over the camera to the pokemon holding it. He grins broadly in response, his ears twitching gaily.]
Righty-o, then, it's time t'be gettin' started! Lucky fer me I learned all sorts o' climbin' tricks in the shinobi, in case I was ever in a situation when I couldn't be usin' me wind.
[With those ominous words, he's off, hauling his big lanky limbs up the side of Sprout Tower. Shimmying around the tower to avoid the diligent eyes of the monks within, Jin's head of red hair pops up on top of the tower. At that moment, an Aerodactyl flies by with a screech, and Jin gracefully dives, latching onto the Aerodactyl's back with all four limbs. The camera catches every movement, as the Aerodactyl panics in midair and starts twisting and flapping its wings, trying to dislodge the demon on its back. It sinks its teeth into Jin's shoulder, but Jin tucks his head down to keep those razor-sharp teeth from making contact with his neck.
The Aerodactyl hits the walkway hard, and the two of them roll across the stones with Jin still holding on for dear life. The Aerodactyl gets its clawed feet sunk in, digging furrows into Jin's calves through his pants, red blossoming against the white cloth.]
Take that, ye cranky ol' fossil! I've swatted bugs bigger'n ye!
[The wrestling continues, until finally Jin twists underneath the Aerodactyl and manages to get the momentum to roll them both into the pure blue water around the tower.
It ain't blue for long. The Aerodactyl screeches in pain and flails around in the water, scratching and biting and disentangling Jin. Sopping wet, the shinobi pulls himself out of the water, the camera bobbing as Shouen the Charmeleon runs closer to get a good shot of his master's triumph. Jin pulls the red and white pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at the flailing Aerodactyl, watching it disappear in a beam of white light and fall to the edge of the water.
Ch-ching. Ch-ching. Ch-ching. Ding.
Jin is panting, bloody, soaked, streaked crimson with his own blood, and grinning like an idiot, barely catching the pokeball when it flies back to his hand before just collapsing to the ground, laughing.]

And when Touya makes his threat, Jin's ears droop visibly and yep, there's the kicked puppy face again.]
I was bein' plenty careful! Didn't get hurt too bad, after all - and I even listened t' what the pokey-dex thinger had t'say about 'em before goin' fer it. Ye oughta be proud, that's more preparation than I usually do before a job!
[And then he tries for a high-spirited, cheeky grin again.]

[Saying that out loud like that made it all seem a bit more real. He still was having trouble accepting that hundreds of years' worth of work has disappeared, but he was at least accepting enough to realize his limitations.
Sawakou could sense Touya's anger, but still, she approached the bed anyway, climbing up to nuzzle up to Jin.]

He beckons the Smoochum toddling across the bed toward him with his free hand and a grin, and takes her into his arm for snuggles. But his tone when he speaks is oddly thoughtful - his ears are dropped and shrinking gradually.]
'S the closest I've come t'flyin since we got here, Toy.

He sighs.]
I understand, but these bodies can't deal with that kind of stress. We have to accept that.
There has to be a safer way than the stunt you just pulled.
[He left his variation of "You scared me" unsaid.]
no subject
'M sorry. I didn' mean t'worry ye.
[He crosses his legs to give Sawakou somewhere to sit (despite the pain it causes - ow) and pats the mattress next to his hip trying to get Touya to come over so that he could convince him he was okay.]
I'm alright. Promise.
no subject
He considers for a second, then slowly makes his way over and sits. He doesn't say anything, merely watches the Smoochum vocalize her displeasure that Jin was diverting his attention from her.]
no subject
I'll not be fergettin' the wee princess, now, and that's a promise! But yer papa's mad at me and I can't be havin' that, now can I?
[Then Jin turns to look at Touya, a little smile on his face.]
What can I do t' convince ye I'm jes' dandy?
no subject
You can tell me that you won't do anything that stupid again. We'll find a better way to get your wind back or at least get you back in the air, if not out of here altogether.
no subject
I'll not be doin' nothin' like that without tellin' ye first. Felt like I was goin' in without me good luck charm.
[He reaches over and settles his good arm around Touya's shoulders amiably.]
Didn' mean t'bring ye back early from yer own huntin'.
no subject
I was done anyway. I checked the gear in the first place because I was coming back.
[He motioned towards Sawakou.]
She's getting stronger. She didn't want to stop.
no subject
Ye get anything new?
[He looks down at the Smoochum in his lap.]
Is that so! She'll be a strong one someday, she will! Didn't expect different, neither! Not with ye trainin' her!
no subject
I would like to train the ones I have first.
[He pats his Smoochum's head.]
no subject
S'pose that makes sense. Still, these'ns are s'posed t'be super rare.
no subject
Maybe in a couple of days.
[He certainly wasn't going anywhere now.
Sawakou flails her arms a bit at him until Touya notices and picks her up. She stops flailing and pouting immediately once in his arms.]
no subject
Jin can't help but chuckle a little at the way that Touya handles the small, baby-looking monster.]
Yer a natural with those things, ye are.
